Regarding Points for 2011
After much discussion and feedback from some of the members the
R.S.R. Board has decided this in regards to the gymkhana placing and points:
If you run a time above your chosen division you will place in that division, in that class, and earn those points. We don’t want to discourage you from improving your runs. The bump up rule will still apply because it is in the by laws and cannot be changed without a by law change at the beginning of the year.
If you run a time in a division that is slower than your chosen division, you will not place in your division, you will not place in the lower division, and you will only receive 1 point for completing your run.

What is Gymkhana?
Gymkhana is timed obstacle racing on horseback. It is one of the most exciting family oriented equestrian sports in the world. It is a fast growing sport that anyone can enjoy. Ramona Santana Riders offer an opportunity to participate in shows locally. Riders may earn a variety of awards while participating in the many events. Some events favor speed, and some events favor skill. Awards may be earned at all skill levels, from Future Champion to Hall of Fame!
Membership is Important
Please remember that in order to accumulate points toward year end class and division awards, the rider must have a curent membership and the horse must be registered as a point horse for that rider. Several people have ridden horses that were not listed as a point horse for them and will not receive year-end points for those rides. Horses listed for siblings or other family members are not automatically available to all family riders and must be listed explicitly for each rider. Our shows are normally held at the Casey Tibbs Western Center in the San Diego Country Estates, southeast of Ramona, CA.
